The Department of Mathematics and Statistics, Department of Computer Science, and NSF ACE Data Science and Analytics Program (DSA) at North Carolina A&T State University are hosting a ten-week Summer Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) Program in Data Science and Analytics for mathematics, computer science, engineering, physical, biological, and social sciences, technology, and business majors.
The REU program will engage student interns via information technology and cloud computing in investigative research that entails developing tools in data analytics. The students will employ and analyze classical methods as well as investigate and develop new methodologies and applications. The proposed projects cover some of the most challenging research questions in data science and machine learning.
The program is hybrid with eight weeks virtual and two weeks onsite, in-person program. If COVID restrictions require, it will shift to a fully virtual program. The program offers participants a research stipend of $6,000, two weeks housing and meal allowance of $1,500 for the onsite program, and travel support for out-of-state students.
Eligibility: USA citizens or permanent residents.
