**Linux Mint** Our labs (Leonard Hall Rm 110 and 112, Collaborative Energy Center Rm 209) have machines that dual-boot Microsoft Windows 10 and Linux Mint. Linux Mint is a free distribution of the Linux operating system, based upon Ubuntu linux (which is itself based upon Debian linux). Linux Mint can be downloaded and installed directly, but be aware that our lab machines have additional libraries and support packages installed. We do have a Linux Mint VM (Virtual Machine) image available for download, which runs under the VirtualBox hypervisor. The virtual machine has a username 'csci2020', the password is 'CSCI2020', all without quotes. The VM image is identical to the Linux Mint image that is installed on the lab machines. The virtual machine image has the following additional packages and apps installed on top of the generic Linux Mint system: **Packages:** cmake lsb-core g++ git mysql-client gnuplot xfig tclcl texlive-latex-base texlive-latex-extra gpdftext clisp gprolog freeglut3 freeglut3-dev pvm mplayer vim vim-nox vim-gnome gfortran gcc-multilib ssvnc x11vnc tightvncserver lynx nvidia-cuda-dev nvidia-cuda-gdb nvidia-cuda-toolkit nvidia-profiler imagemagick python-tk libboost-dev libboost-date-time-dev libboost-thread-dev zlib1g-dev libjpeg8-dev libtiff5-dev libopenexr-dev autoconf automake scilab mysql-workbench python-scipy python-matplotlib openssh-server mpack emacs blender python3-matplotlib python3-pandas python3-pandas-lib python3-seaborn python3-scipy python3-scipy-dbg python3-sklearn python3-sklearn-lib python3-sklearn-pandas python3-pip **Apps:** numpy - python3-numpy statsmodels - python-statsmodels python-statsmodels-lib quandl - pip3 install quandl Dr. Java Processing Oracle instant client Eclipse BlueJ povray
