Mobile Handheld Devices
There are two kinds of mobile handheld devices:
Smart cellular phones
are voice-centric devices with information functions, such as Apple's
iPhone
.
PDAs (Personal Digital Assistants)
are information-centric devices with voice capabilities, such as
Palm Tungsten E2
.
Tablet PCs belong to the category of PDAs because both have similar functionality. Two tasks are usually performed by mobile users:
Apply the embedded functions such as an address book provided by handheld devices.
Interact with mobile applications such as Web browsing by using mobile handheld devices.
