MySQL-driven Web Site Construction



Take the suggested steps in the following slides to construct a database-driven web site:
  1. MySQL and environment set-up,
  2. Studying the exercise specifications carefully,
  3. Database design,
  4. Database implementation,
  5. Web user interface construction,
  6. Calling PHP scripts with embedded SQL, and
  7. Testing the exercise thoroughly.
These steps and software are neither definite nor unique. You may take other approaches.

    2.  Follow the instructions in the MySQL Help to use the MySQL database. Also, PHP scripts do not need to be stored in the cgi-bin directory, so the web pages and PHP scripts can be saved in the same folder.

  2. Studying the Exercise Specifications Very Carefully
    3.  A common mistake made by develpers is misunderstanding the specifications, and it will cause a great loss of time, effort, and budget. Ask in advance if you have any questions about the specifications.
