Cloud Storage

Cloud storage and external hard drives are two good options to back up your files. You’ll have duplicates of the important data, and create extra space for your limited internal hard drive.

Cloud Computing
Cloud computing is computing in which large groups of remote servers are networked to allow the centralized data storage, and online access to computer services or resources. The figure shows a generic architecture of cloud computing.
Cloud Storage
With cloud storage, you can view, edit, save, and share your files anywhere you can get online. It allows you to keep data with a third-party host—oftentimes for free. Although many third-party hosts offer free storage, it’s typically for a limit data amount. Buy additional cloud storage space if you plan to backup large files.

Hard Drives
An external hard drive is another way to back up files, and it allows you to store more than your computer’s limited internal hard drive. An external hard drive connects to the computer with a cable, such as a USB. Regularly save files onto your external hard drive in case your internal hard drive is compromised or damaged.
