Microsoft SharePoint Designer


Microsoft SharePoint is a collection of products and software elements that includes, among a growing selection of components, web browser based collaboration functions, process management modules, search modules and a document-management platform. SharePoint can be used to host web sites that access shared workspaces, information stores and documents, as well as host defined applications such as wikis and blogs. All users can manipulate proprietary controls called “web parts” or interact with pieces of content such as lists and document libraries.

SharePoint Designer is a product for creating and customizing Microsoft SharePoint web sites and building workflow-enabled applications based on SharePoint technologies. For SharePoint Designer 2010, check the Demo.

SharePoint Designer provides professional tools for building interactive solutions on the SharePoint platform without writing code, for designing custom SharePoint sites, and for maintaining site performance with reports and managed permissions. It includes the following features:
Support for creating and customizing next-generation SharePoint web sites and technologies.
It has deep editing support for the technologies underlying Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services technology, such as ASP.NET 2.0, cascading style sheets, and Microsoft Windows Workflow Foundation.
